PiggyRats development

We managed to get the multiplayer a few days ago, just before we got some feedback from the tutors and students. the multiplayer seems to not work on the university internet, but works fine on my home internet.

A point that was raised was that the game concept didn't really relate to our original prisoners dilemma, because you could eat the other candies without any consequences.

After thinking for a bit we decided to add a visible and statistical effect to you rat if you eat others candies, your rat will appear larger (gain weight) and move slightly slower the more you eat but if you eat your own you will reduce in size (with a minimum and maximum cap).
So now you will be able to spot the defectors by their size, they will have some negative effects but still gain points which will make it worth it.

T (Temptation): Red Rat takes his own red candy, steals Blue Rat's blue candy and gains the points Blue Rat would have otherwise gotten. Blue Rat doesn't take Red Rat's red candy and misses out on getting his blue candy. Red Rat: ++points. Blue Rat: --points.
R (Reward): Red Rat only takes his red candies and Blue Rat only takes his blue candies. Red Rat: +points. Blue Rat: +points.
P (Punishment): Red Rat steals Blue Rat's blue candy and Blue Rat steals Red Rat's red candy too. Red Rat: -points. Blue Rat: -points.
S (Sucker): Blue Rat doesn't take Red Rat's red candy and misses out on getting his blue candy, and Red Rat takes his own candy and steals Blue Rat's blue candy. Red Rat: ++points. Blue Rat: --points.
