we are now asked to create a drawing robot. we have experimented with a few different drawing methods for our robot, most of them involve a pin puncturing paper or a pen making a dot/line on the paper.
the first idea was to use the scorpion tail. this always punctured the paper, which was good, but it was quite slow and we couldn't use the ultrasonic sensor with it because the tail would get in the way
the second design used the rotating motor and converted it into up/down movement, but the pin would keep catching on the paper and stop it from turning.
the third design, which we are working on at the moment has the back of the robot sitting on the ground and a motor at the back spins around with a leg and lifts a pen/ pin up at the back and brings it back down as it moves
we attached the light sensor to the front of the robot and put strips of black paper around the outside of the piece of paper, so when the robot hits the black line it will move back and turn around.
sometimes if the robot moved to far it would jump over the black line and we would need to wave a piece of black paper under the sensor to make it turn around
