Some research

We have been looking at the book "Status Anxiety" by Alain de Botton, it talks about how people are constantly striving for high status and the effects of it in society.

Another book I have been reading is How to play a video game by Author, Two quotes I found interesting are:
"Before any performance anxiety wells up, let me return to what is far more important for people who are just getting into video games: good old play"
and :
"Being allowed to do whatever you want can be overwhelming - and, over time, surprisingly dull. Sometimes we need structure : a goal to achieve, a target to hit, a world to save. A sense of performance is a refreshing change"
It shows there can be too much control a game takes over itself, or not enough where you might feel bored so there is a balance to be aimed for when designing a game.
